Liz Painter

Qualified careers practitioner, STEM enthusiast and former science teacher.

Liz has moved from a successful career in teaching to working with the Cheshire and Warrington LEP, helping employers to engage with schools and young people. Along this journey, Liz has gained a Level 7 qualification in career development and is in the closing stages of completing an MA in Careers Education and Coaching at the University of Derby.

Following invitations to speak at Inside Government conferences about Women in STEM, Liz developed a greater understanding of the need for closer links between industry and education. Her role with the LEP allows her to support employers and teachers to work more closely together to benefit the career development of young people.

Liz has found a passion for writing accessible articles about career learning for teachers and advocates that all teachers are careers teachers. As a registered CPD Facilitator with STEM Learning, Liz delivers careers education CPD to teachers. Liz has enjoyed contributing to the new STEM Learning toolkit for Careers Leaders, endorsed by the CEC.
