Chris Targett

Experienced and passionate careers professional

A dedicated Careers Adviser with over fourteen years’ worth of experience in the Secondary, Further & Higher Education sectors. He writes regularly for the CXK Careers Blog which, is sent to Head Teachers across Kent and has presented at conferences for careers professionals in London, Leicester and at Canterbury Christ Church University.

His experience is in addition to his passion for supporting and enabling individuals to make informed decisions, where they are responsible for their choices and plans. Chris takes a non-judgemental and client centred approach so, no matter what the idea he will listen and help students to find clarity in their aims for the future, as well as offer challenge where appropriate.

He attends strategic meetings regionally and takes part in the national CEIAG debate and agenda. Chris is also current Chair of the Careers Writers Association.

Co-author of the interpretive model OPM for IAG; Open Partnership Model (OPM), as published in the June 2014 edition of Career Matters magazine by the CDI.

Author of the "Lego Guidance" approach to Careers Guidance, as published in the June 2017 edition of Career Matters magazine by the CDI.

Alongside his careers work, Chris is also a Painter and Illustrator; producing illustrations within a “careers context” alongside paintings of other subjects.
